When can I start my POAS fest?

I don't know the timing involved with POAS after FET (or IVF for that matter), so I need your help.

When is the earliest I could get early BFPs?

I am a poas-addict, so I will start poas soon regardless of any of these answers. What this question is actual for is to know the ~when~ the earliest of BFPs can happen past 3dt.

With IUIs and "natural" cycles, I know a BFP can happen as early as 9dpo, but it's not common to see them. I know that 10dpo is more common and I know that most pregnant women who actually know the specific day of ovulation will get a BFP on 11dpo. I know that I trust a 12dpo BFN at an 85% accuracy rate. I know a 13dpo BFN can be trusted 95%. I trust a 14dpo BFN 99%, even with the lack of AF.

But I know nothing about FETs and IVFs and 3dts and 5dts. I don't know when the earliest people have gotten BFPs nor the percentages of their accuracy.

Can anyone help me out? Please comment on all the information you know. I have also put in an easy to click poll, for those who don't like commenting. Thanks!

Have you read it?

I know every single person who reads this blog from the IF community already knows of Mel's blog. She's the Stirrup Queen herself.

Knowing who Mel is, you already know she blogs for the BlogHer blogging community. (nice. I got three blog words in one sentance!) I just got done reading her newest installment, Urination Fascination: Home Pregnancy Tests, Infertility, and Halle Berry's Stash and I'm mentioned and quoted!

Yup, it's true. I feel pretty damned cool. Even if it's about how ~insane~ I am about peeing on little cardboard sticks. ~smile~

That answers that.

11dpIUI & now negative. Trigger is out showing that nothing else is in.

The tarot to go along with it:

"The Six of Swords card suggests that my power today lies in transition. I have what I need and am willing to trust the process order to move on, seek refuge or new opportunity. I'm not willing to remain where my perceptions are invalidated but being vulnerable I must rely on guidance to move in a new direction "

and the daily horoscope:

"You may not always trust your intuition, but today it's more accurate than ever and sending you messages you can't afford to miss. Pay attention, but wait for a while if you think it's important. "

10dpIUI updates (now with confession!)

My chart is beautiful. It's my first official "triphasic" chart ever. (but if you would read the link, you'll see that although promising, it also can mean absolutely dick). I've gotten close to having one before, but my temp moved up to the next level before 8dpo. It's the first time I've had FF say "Implantation Signs: Possibly Triphasic on Day 28".

My poas odyssey shows another light bfp. Remember folks, I got the hcg trigger twice this cycle. The first was 6,666 UIs day before ovulation and the second was 3,334 UIs 5 days past ovulation. Yeah, the last time I got LP support hcg shots and the last one was at 6 days past ovulation showing a bfn on 10dpo is neither here nor there. This cycle I have not been able to pee a negative yet, so nothing means anything. Except that my hpt is totally most likely trigger shot still in my system.

So that's that.

Okay, that's not that.

I remembered I had two digital tests in my sock drawer. Yes, yes, I know what I said about digitals. But I did ~not~ buy them. A girl at work gave them to me once she used the first one out of the 3 pack to determine she was pregnant on her first cycle trying. (bitter much nance?) Well, I figure "hey, since these internet cheapies suck, I'll try one that says it only detects 25-50 UIs of hcg and that will tell me". So I dig one out, pee on it (hrm, not FMU, but I still hadn't had anything to drink and I hadn't peed for almost 2 hours) and wait. Damn, those things take awhile to show up. There's no peeking before the 3 minutes up on these tests! A few minutes later and I see "pregnant". What a neat thing to see.

Then the rational part of my brain wakes back up and says "wait a minute, we have just determined there is, indeed, hcg in your system. And we have no idea if it is or if it isn't from the trigger. So why the hell did you just waste another test? It's not like the digitals only pick up natural hcg and not trigger!" So yes, I'm a confessed moron. But, it WAS, in fact, cool to see "pregnant" on a digital test. I may have to change my mind on those (but only after confirmation so "pregnant" actually means "pregnant".

And, if you've been a reader since last October, you'll remember the trigger of October '07. And I see myself going there again. So I'm going to just accept, right now, that I can't figure this out and I must wait. No more peeing with tell me anything. At least for today. ~wink~

oh yes, my 9dpIUI poas update.

Still a bfp from trigger. I was hoping to get a nice BFN today, so tomorrow's 10dpIUI would be a "real" poas day, but I won't have anything to compare to.

I have been poas since a few days after last trigger and they all have been getting progressively lighter. Today, per my 1,000IUs of Hcg/day being processed, I could have as much as 500UIs. But it was still really light. Actually, it's just as light as it was yesterday. I don't see much change between yesterday and todays. These internet cheapies sure don't give a lot of information.

All I can do now is poas again tomorrow and hope to see a darker line that today. But at 10dpo, the line would be really light anyway, so even ~if~ there was any hCG to detect, without a negative reference, it's not going to mean much.

poop.

Want in on my insanity?

Okay, hold on to your math hats. I'm a mathlete.

When wondering how long hCG stays in your system, many go by the average of "1,000 UIs/day". Since I am a poas-aholic, I know that after a trigger of 10,000 UIs, I am usually getting stark white bfns by 7-8dpo. Let's say 8dpo for the math factor. That means ~my~ body processes about 1,250 units per day.

This cycle I had:

7,500 IUs 9 days ago, on ovulation day.
1,250 IUs 4 days ago, at 5dpo
1,250 IUs 2 days ago, at 7dpo.

Before my 3rd trigger on 7dpo, 2 days after last trigger and 7 days after 1st trigger, I POAS. It was BFN. Nada. Stark White.

That means in 7 days, 7,500IUs was processed (makes sense) and in 2 days, another 1,250 was processed (again, makes sense).

Okay, we good so far? I have verified that trigger is gone.

I give myself trigger #3. About 12 hours later (that night), I POAS and get a BFP. This was Sunday night. Makes sense. I'm still within processing time.

Of course I want to check to see when it's gone, so 24 hours later (36 hours after last trigger), Monday night, I POAS again after holding urine for 3 hours or so. It's a ~faint~ bfp. Okay, so this one is taking a little longer to get out. Okay. Fine.

9dpo. This morning, I poas using fmu, which has only been held for about 3 hours, due to I had to pee in the midst of the morning. It's a bfp again. But darker. ~argh~ !!! WTF? Seriously?

Which leads me to have to make some conclusions. It could definitely still be the last trigger. Maybe this one is taking more than a day to process. I'm at the 2 day mark and still getting a bfp. It could happen. And maybe this morning's darker bfp was just because it was more concentrated than last nights. Yeah, I did pee, but I didn't drink anything else, so still, it was from liquid all night.

It all makes sense that it's still the trigger. And plus, I'm ~only~ 9dpo. Sure, my chart went triphasic 2 days ago. If I am, ~cough~cough~, pregnant, implantation would have already happened on 6dpo. Which is early but not impossible. So it's possible to get a bfp already. But I AM taking progesterone supplements, so that could attest for the higher temps. But I started taking the supps on the morning of 3dpo. Why would it wait 3 days to make my temps higher?

SEE. My insanity. I wish I wasn't smart enough to think about all the possibilities. I wish I could blindly wait until 14dpo to test. I wish I knew that yes, it could be a possible real bfp. I wish I knew that no, it could definitely still be from the synthetic hcg I was injecting in my ass.

I know WAY too much and I don't know nearly enough.

So I wait. If it gets darker ~again~, then it's real. If it fades, it's not (but it's still early!) <--- gotta keep some hope, right?
