There is a spot on the back of my knee (in the "knee-pit") which has been bothering me for a few weeks. I could feel something when I walked, but couldn't feel anything. As time went on, the spot had become more painful. My knee has become a tad weaker in stride. And I feel something in there popping back and forth along the tendon while I walk. Last night, I found it. The lump.
It's as big as an olive and can be pushed back and forth next to and between the left back tendon on my right knee. And it hurts. Not bad, but its bothersome. It's sore when not touched and is painful when pushed on.
No idea what it could be. I have an appointment tomorrow morning to have it checked out. I hope it's nothing.

Sounds like a fibroid. I have a "lumpy" mom and best friend and sometimes you just have to wait for those things to get smaller and eventually go away, or they can remove it, or you can just leave it alone and it becomes part of you (if you can stand it). If you're doing roller derby, it would probably annoy the hell out of you.
Hope it goes away!!
Hoping it's nothing with you! Good luck at the appt.
It's a Baker cyst. Benign, not to worry.
Hope it's nothing too! It obviously couldn't read your socks from "in there", so warn it, it doesn't wanna mess w/ you! ;) KUP on the appointment.
a cyst? my mom gets something that sounds totally similar in her wrists & elbows, * it's always jsut a cyst. harmless & goes away on its own, so will hope in your case its something similarly harmless!
I've had them in my wrist, and my grandfather used to get them there too. He told me it was something called a ganglion. Not sure if those are found in knees as well but it could make sense. I'll bet it's nothing. You are wise to have it checked though.
Hope they are able to take care of it without a problem.
dude.
that sucks. hope it is nothing serious and swiftly gone. xo
Maybe it could be a ganglion cyst? I get those in my wrists, and it sounds a lot like what you're describing - I know they can pop up in any joint... anyway, hope it's nothing. You've been through enough medical cr@p!
I hope it's easy to take care of.
I hope it's nothing, too.
Hope to hear good news from you soon!
Sounds like a Baker's cyst. Good luck, keep us updated!
I hope it's nothing serious Nance... you've had enough shit to deal with in your life time....
xxx
I hope it's nothing, too!
OK so now I have to comment. My big plan was to post you all the pressies I've accumulated the past few weeks ..... some AWESOME stuff for your girls, BTW ..... and totally not tell you and let it be a huge surprise. But I just read this, so I have to say that mate, I hope it's nothing too. Is that where a lymph gland is? I'm so lame I don't even know ..... but I do know that a lump, any motherfucking lump, anywhere .... is a bit freaky. So please know I'm thinking of you and sending you love.
I did reply, you know. As soon as I got your fantastic chocolate magnets, I replied. Then you asked if I got it so I replied from my different email address, then you asked me AGAIN. You must have some kick-arse spam killer!
So then I hatched a plan of a big surprise, with a detailed note about how much I love you, thank you for blogging, thank you for your support and love over the years, etc.
I feel like I really "know" you, Nancy. As they say in Avatar - "I see you." You really are one of my favourite people.
MWAH MWAH MWAH.
XOXOXOXOXOXOX
PS Wait til you see Ella's pressie ..... it's a beautiful little piece of jewellry - WITH A SKULL ON IT.
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO
Probably a baker's cyst or a ganglion (ganglions are attached to the tendon, a baker's is an outpouching of joint fluid).
Both are totally no big deal. Also NOT cancer. Everybody worries about that bit,

I hope it's nothing too--that's really scary.
Sounds like a lymph node that's inflamed from something. Or a Baker cyst. Hope you get reassurance.
Sending you lots of good JUJU that it isn't anything.
*HUGS*
I don't know if knees are like boobs in any way, but a few months ago, I had a lump in my boob. When the doc examined me, he said that the fact that it hurt and that we were able to move it around was probably a good sign. It turned out to be nothing but a blocked duct, and I pray yours is nothing as well!
It sounds like a fatty cyst to me. I have a couple in my lower back (by my back dimples...those endents above ones peliv). They developed in college from carrying a heavy backpack that rubbed there...so the doctor said. My sister had one behind her knee as a kid and they called it a "Baker's cyst". Nerve cells grew into mine, so they were painful when pressure was put on them from my backpack. They didn't do anything and they are probably still there, but supposedly "harmless". Hope your are something similar (meaning not dangerous) and aren't painful for long!
Lumps are always scary but I have come to realize how common they are and I know it always helps me to hear that others have gone through similar things with good outcomes so I wanted to add to the others! My husband is a cysty person...his body just likes to grow 'em. Every time he finds a new one, I get freaked out. He's had them on his head, his shoulders, his neck, his back, his wrist...all over. They are like little marbles (the one in his head was more like a golf ball...SOOO gross to feel!!!) He's only had a couple removed b/c doctor said not to mess with them unless they were bothering him. So far, nothing bad. Hoping the same for you :)
Here to tell you I'm thinking positive for you and your appointment today, and that you've been tagged on my blog! xo
Hope it nothing serious! Keep us posted.
Hopefully all the cyst sayers are right. Good luck today!
I hope it's nothing! Any news yet?
I am hoping it is nothing, too. Thinking of you, Nancy!
