The worst nickname ever.

Back in high school / college, I skateboarded. One day I feel hard and got some major road rash on my knee. All my skin was scraped off my knee and developed into a huge scab. Whenever I'd walk, it would crack and bleed. It was horrible.

Just days after, I went to a party. I had my plastic cup of beer and was sitting on the couch with my leg up on the coffee table, trying not to bend it. A friend of mine asked if I needed a refill and I took him up on his offer.

There was a sharpie on the keg so you could write your name on your cup to keep track of it. My friend took this opportunity to write my name on my cup. "Scabbie". He thought it was hilarious and apparently so did everyone else. And the nickname stuck. I was known as scabbie for months and months and months. Scabbie. Yeah.

My most used nickname though was "blondie" and in one group of friends, I was known as "bubbles".

Did you have a nickname growing up? Do you still have a nickname?

I am 5'9" and was the tallest person in my class for years and years. The other kids only started to catch up to me (and boys only for that matter) during our later years of high school. Anyway, when I was in junior high, I was dubbed "tree." God, I hated that name. It stuck for my early high school years. Thankfully, I haven't heard that name for a very long time.

Mine all relate to my red hair.

In 6th grade, I got called a carrot in the garden of Eden, HAH.

But my favourite was "Rusty", which my parents drunk friends called me.

Love you, Scabbie!! XOXOXOX

When I was 2 my parents asked me what my name was and since Christina was too hard to say I told them "Ti Ti". What a mistake, they still call me it now!

I was called Queenie for awhile by my family but the one that has stuck is Fluffnera. My cousins called me fluffy for awhile (they said I was fluffy not fat) and that morphed to Fluffnera.

Boo. Still to this day my sister and parents call me Boo. I hated it in my teens but find it endearing now.

My first nickname my Mom gave me was Lissie Lou Bear, which I told her she couldn't call me when I was in junior high. She still calls Lissie. My sisters, brother and best friend all called me Melly, which some still do. In high school, my friends called me Strawberry, because I have red hair and my maiden name was Berry.

I have had a ton of nicknames over the years... As a child I was Pickles or Fred, in highschool I was NARS (not a rocket scientist), and in college I was T (my first initial) or Bob. The worst one ever tho was all because I misspoke one day when trying to describe to a friend about how my chapped lips were on fire... only I just said they were really hot. Well, hotlips stuck for a heck of a long time. Very annoying.

My dad had a nickname for me as did my grandma. To my dad, I was Pooh Bear and, to my grandma, I was princess.

The most hideous nickname I ever got called (and thank God it was only used a few times) was birds nest because of my curly hair.

I have a sometimes nickname from my hubby but it's not used that often.

Scabbie??
damn. that is harsh.

I usually get called by the first half of my name or the first letter of my name or if I am up to date with my Miss Clairol I get called Red.

i have never, ever had a nickname. closest i've ever come is my husband, who pretty much exclusively calls me "hey you" (no, really. in his world, its a term of endearment.)

Oh, I have lots. First one I remember was Red. I was a paperboy growing up and an old man down the street would yell it every time he saw me. In middle school my grandma bought me a huge white bubble coat, years before they were cool, and was Carrotty Marshmallow for a few years. My husband calls me Snagglecooch. My sisters and I call eachother anything we can think of- bitch tits, hooch, ho, slunt... We're pretty classy like that.

Lots of fun to read replies. My initial nickname was Pooky, or Pooky Bear by my mom. She also called me Punky from Punky Bruster and Boog. In college I was Sher Bear, created by my roommate. In high school it was Bubbles because of a camp I worked at I had to have a camp name. In middle school I was Smokey. My softball coach gave all of us who made a home run a nickname. I ran so fast around the bases that I was leaving a trail of dirt that looked like smoke.
