This is my title.

I can't think of any clever little title this evening. I'm lame.

I just wrote all about my past 5 days on my other blog. (If you don't know about it, click on my profile on the right column and it's listed under "My Blogs") Not too exciting, but it shows my irritation in the moment.

It's St Patrick's Day. I was going to go out tonight, but I want to go out tomorrow night with some friends of mine and it's not fair of me to get to go out two nights in a row. Its a bummer too, since the people going out tonight are people I've really been trying to go out with, and I always have to cancel at the last minute. They are going to think I'm flaking out on them when I'm totally ~not~. The hubby wants to go out tonight too, so I can't very well tell him "no". Although, I ~could~ use the fact he's been able to go out Friday night, Sunday night and Monday night all he wanted since he's been here at home all alone. It's not my fault he didn't take advantage of it, right? I should drink a few Guinness tonight, regardless of going out.

Tomorrow night will definitely be a mellow night because I have surgery on Thursday. Yup, we're all set to remove my gallbladder at 1:30pm MT. I'm super bummed it's in the afternoon instead of the morning. I always try to schedule my surgeries/procedures in the morning due to the "no eating or drinking after midnight" rule. It's much easier not to eat or drink for a 730am surgery than one starting at 1:30pm. I had one hell of an attack Friday night while at my in laws. Tom wasn't with me and I had all the kids "alone", so I got all emotional and I started crying. Ugh. How embarrassing. It lasted until the wee hours of the morning, but I did get some relief by getting some IV pain medication at the ER. See, my father in law is the CEO of the hospital so he took me in that night (they made me go) and since he's the boss of oh, every single person in the ER, I was quickly taken care of. Wow - what service. From the time I walked in the front door to the time I was in a room of my own and being examined by a doctor was literally under 3 minutes. I felt so stupid to go in too, since there was absolutely nothing they could do for me. I already had surgery scheduled and everything. Oh well, at least I got the edge of the pain off.

Oh boy. I just looked at my google reader and have 585 posts to read. Looks like I'm only going to be able to scan the latest posts from everyone to get through them. Hopefully I can do that tonight and tomorrow so I can be back to commenting sooner rather than later. Oh, and thank you for all the emails checking on me. I ~lurve~ you girls!

Nice to see you're back. The gall bladder thing sounds really crappy.
Too bad I can't remove people giving me pain like you remove a faulty gallbladder. Life would be so much easier!
Happy healing!

I expect you to not only read, but comment on all 585 of those posts young lady.

Um, or maybe not.
Glad you survived the in laws, if barely. Their dog sounds like a pita. My dog is kind of a pita, but not that much. And nobody eats sticks of butter in my house other than me!

Good luck on Thursday - I hope the surgery is easy and quick.

I hope your surgery goes well, and you're back to 100% quickly. I think after 5 days with all 3 kids AND a gallbladder attack, you should have gone out 2 nights running.

Yeah, fasting for an afternoon surgery sucks. Hope it goes smoothly and recovery is quick. You need to get back to LIFE already!

Glad your back. At least if you had to go to the ER you were well taken care of- sure beats waiting for hours.

Good Luck on Thursday- hope you recover quickley.

Good luck with your surgery on Thursday! I hate afternoon surgeries too. The removal of my "broken" woman parts is on Tuesday at noon. Not quite as bad as you but it still stinks.

I hope you recover quickly and your pain goes away!

Good luck on your surgery!
PS--I have to tell you about an awesome moment I had on Saturday, at the St. Patrick's parade. One of your derby girls and your coach (!) came up to me to ask whether the Irish dance group I dance with might be interested in performing at halftime at one of your derby events! After thinking (and saying) hellz yeah! I was all, hey, you know Nancy? Um...I mean, MurderRita? They said, oh yeah! She'll be out for a bit, but she'll be back. It was just like a celebrity sighting (even though you weren't there)--SO cool! :)

Poor Nancy! Hope all goes well and you have a quick easy recovery. Don't forget to mark your body where they should be cutting, they might fuck up and do brains surgery instead. Yeah.

That rocks that the FIL got you great service and some pain meds to help. Sucks about the need for surgery and the horrible attack. Please oh please let this be the last time you need surgery for like..um..forever!

I'm glad you could get the 'good stuff' quickly- but I'm so sorry you had to deal with another attack on top of having all 3 kids on your own. No matter how good they are - that's a lot!

Enjoy your guiness tonight- I hope you enjoyed one last night! I'm off to your other blog to catch up- and you bet I will be texting you tomorrow & sending you lots of good thoughts for your surgery! xoxoxo

Hey Nancy, I just got my GB out Friday and it went really well. I felt pretty fine a couple of hours later and what didn't feel fine was easily handled with a little pain med. Other than being slightly hobbled through the mid section, I can operate as usual. I have noticed some nausea and a little acid reflux since I got it out... hopefully these symptoms will decrease over the next couple months, but are loads nicer to me than attacks. I'm sure you'll do fine. I bet the worst part will be waiting all day, hungry and thirsty. Good luck, hope it goes as well for you as it did for me.

Dang, Nancy. You've had a lot of GB attacks. Did they talk to you about what you could and couldn't eat?

Nearly everything was a trigger for me--the only thing I could really eat without having pain and/or an attack, was Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers Chicken Margherita. I LIVED on those for about 11 weeks. And baked potatoes with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. LOL

Seriously, I couldn't even eat cheese, or salad dressing, etc etc etc. That's when I went from drinking 2% milk (trigger!) to skim milk (not so bad as the 2%).

So then my attacks got more spaced out after I figured out what I couldn't eat, which was nearly everything, and which was SO not fun, because I was 28 weeks into my 4th pregnancy when it all happened. And my GB was infected, too, when they took it out.

I had a c-section and GB surgery almost 7 weeks apart. NOT fun. I don't know if that made a difference in my recovery, but I was in a lot of pain afterwards. For daaaays.

I will definitely be praying for a swift recovery for you. Everybody always told me it was no big deal to have it done with lap, but they LIED. lol

P.S. A little unsolicited advice--start taking laxatives as soon as you go home. I'm just saying. Nobody told me that little tidbit and I (and my behind) suffered tremendously.

Was weird without you around chicka. Glad you're back, even if it's temporary until the surgery takes over.

wow-- way to go FIL! sorry you feel so crummy, hope the surgery goes well tomorrow!

I have no doubt you will feel so, so much better when that rotten gallbladder is out. I'm glad you have people "in the know" to get you quick treatment for those attacks until then, though.

Michelle said...

Whoa...I can't wait till you have that surgery and you start feeling a 100% better. I know how these attacks suck. Just keep that count down going and that 1:30 time slot goes fast...I had my last surgery at 3:30pm est and it went by really fast...I even had to sit there and endure my neighbor eating an entire salad in front of me. ha ha.

Seriously though...I hope and pray you start feeling better and things go smoothly tomorrow! I'll be definately thinking about you!!

Glad you're back. I was afraid there was internet drama somewhere. Good luck tomorrow.

With a gallbladder attack sometimes only the IV meds will take care of it. Glad that it is coming out soon...although afternoon surgeries totally suck.

I hope you got to go out last night.
I just read your comment on my post last night and cracked the fuck up. You can call me mama in your late night fantasies my friend!
