Video killed the radio star ...

What form of music do you listen to? Is it all digital now?

I've been listening to my records lately. I used to be a vinyl freak and scour the record stores for a new find. There's just something about the sound of vinyl that I love. And many of the artists I listen to put their albums out on vinyl. Some bands even put ~more~ on their album than their cd or digital copies.

Mmmm. Vinyl.

Anyone else?

Most of my music comes from the radio, whether it's old fashioned airwaves at the office or XM if I'm in my car. Every once in a while, I'll listen to my ipod in the car, but I haven't d/l music in a while.

I gave away my stereo with the turntable about 9 years ago, but I never used the turntable. It still had the protective plastic on the needle.

I did hear that vinyl is making a comeback.

Still listening to mostly CDs. Now that there's iTunes seems like most people just buy the songs they know they like, and they miss out on a lot of great "b-side" stuff. I nearly always buy a whole album.

I won't get rid of my vinyl (or my cassette tapes, for that matter), but mostly I listen to the radio. I also listen to CDs on occasion. I don't own an iPod...

I do like the vinyl, though.

In the car we have Sirius radio. I listen to the most popular stuff or the 90's channel. Ain't nothing like hearing a bit of Salt 'n Peppa followed by Alanis to get you singing. But of course we also have the classic rock channel saved and the 60's channel saved. In the house I have CD's.

I list to all kinds of music on the radio, cds, and on my mp3 player. I still own vinyl but rarely break it out.

I didn't even know you could by modern records! Shows how out of touch I am.

I mostly just listen to the radio. I listen to pop/R&B (oh, the horror!!!) plus I like Pearl Jam and other alternative rock.

I have mix CDs and then I have my older Pearl Jam CDs. And of course, my JT.

I love vinyl too. If my player were hooked up, I'd enjoy "Thriller" the way it was meant to be enjoyed. I love the crackle.

I listen to mp3s mostly.

I have a ton of 45s from the 50s but they are at my parents.

I will just come out and say it. I don't really listen to that much except in the car (and then awful radio). I own an iPod - it has no music on it and I run to the sounds of the world. My husband loves music - I could take it or leave it.

OMG, nice typo, me. That's what a lack of sleep will do!

It should be, "I didn't even know you could BUY modern records".

I hate it when I make a stupid mistake like that!

we have a ton of vinyl, but mainly listen to the ipod or radio now -probably because we can't find our record player...

In my house we are satallite radio and mp3s mostly. I never got into vinyl but did pull out some of my old CDs lately. We have hundreds of them.. tons of good stuff I haven't played in ages. I'm started to wean Allison off of kids music. Right now she's listening to Nirvana Unplugged, I figured that was kind of "light", Blur, and They Might be Giants. Kind of a weird mix but I thought we'd see what she likes.

I read the title of your post, and came here hoping that you had posted a video of your Burlesque routine.

I mostly listen to the radio, CDs or the Ipod. However, I still have the turntable I grew up with and I'm never planning on getting rid of it. I love to pull out records once in a while and listen to them. There's nothing quite like a record.

I'm with you Nancy--I love vinyl. When I was growing up I used to listen to all my parents' old vinyl records. I like the sound of it too. Most of my newer stuff though is digital, all on a memory card on my Blackberry. I listen to some CD's in the car though. But vinyl is cool. Cassette tapes though, I can't stand the sound of. Can't really explain it.

I still have my old turntable, and all my vinyl records & cassette tapes in the basement, but I'll admit I haven't listened to them in years. We have a CD player & CDs upstairs, but I probably listen to music mostly on the radio, & mostly to a classic rock station that plays the stuff I grew up with.

Dare I admit I have never owned as much as a Sony Walkman, let alone an MP3 player or iPod?? (I still have a very retro 1970s Sony transistor radio, though. Not sure whether it still works.)

I listen to pretty much anything. I like to get the whole record too so that I can listen to all of the extra songs that no one has ever heard of and not just the more popular ones that I actually think to download.

Most of the music I listen to now is digital. I still have all of my old records and wish I had a turntable.

There is something about listening to classic rock on vinyl that I ~love~. It's the way it was meant to be heard.
