Thank you to those who wished me a happy birthday. 37. Wow.
Today we had a 'dual' family celebration for both my birthday and allison's, which is on the 18th. It ended up being all about her - she got the cake, the song, the candles, but who needs a birthday party at age 37? She's 4 and she had a great family birthday party. (I didn't get a card from the hubby nor my kids though. I'm bummed out about that. My friends were great though. Lots of texts and cards came in the mail, so that all made me happy!)
I saw the movie "funny people" tonight. Long movie, but good. I liked it. It didn't have a clear storyline all the way through, until I saw the end which pulled it all together. What I thought the movie was about was not what it was really about. Good movie though, so I'll thumbs-up it.
The red sox lost again today - that's 10 years of losses on my birthday. How do I know this? Ben Affleck and myself share the same birthday, including year. And Baseball Tonight on ESPN kept talking about the fact the sox haven't won on Ben's birthday for 10 years. Weird. Not weird they haven't won - they're the sox for goodness sake. You aren't a true red sox fan unless you are used to losing. All. The. Time. Well, when it counts. (I can't believe we actually have 'fair weather fans' now. Incredible!) But weird espn were all about reporting the aspect of wins/losses on Ben Affleck's birthday. Why his birthday? There is a sox fan born everyday of the year, yet we hear all about Ben's curse of August 15th.

- Dec 02 ~ Went to pcp for RE referral
- Jan 03 ~ Testing commences. S/A perfect. HSG clear.
- Feb 03 ~ Lap #1. All clear.
- Apr 03 ~ Clomid cycle #1. BFN.
- May 03 ~ Clomid cycle #2. BFN.
- Jun 03 ~ Clomid cycle #3. BFN.
- Jul 03 ~ Supposed to be IUI#1, but we missed cd3 so natural cycle
- Aug 03 ~ BFP on C18.
- Apr 04 ~ Ella born.
- Oct 04 ~ decided to ttc #2 and went off minipill to see if I am ovulating. I am. Will start next month.
- Nov 04 ~ TTC#2 starts. BFP. Holy Crap. No freaking way. No way.
- Aug 05 ~ Allison born
- Oct 06 ~ IUD removed. TTC#3
- Jan 07 ~ Large cysts found.
- Feb 07 ~ Femara cyle #1
- Mar 07 ~ Started w/ RE. HSG #2 showed R tube blocked. S/A normal.
- Mar 07 ~ more cysts, up to 9cms.
- Apr 07 ~ more cysts, 3 @ 7-9cms.
- May 07 ~ IUI #1 cancelled due to more cysts
- Jun 07 ~ IUI #1 (take two) w/ Clomid. BFN.
- Jul 07 ~ HSS showed scar tissue in 70% of uterus. Diagnosed with Asherman's Syndrome. Uterine surgery #2
- Aug 07 ~ HSG #3 showed clear tubes.
- Aug 07 ~ IUI #2 w/ Femara. BFN.
- Sept 07 ~ Monitored w/ hCG trigger. BFN.
- Oct 07 ~ HSS #2 showed scar tissue in 30% of uterus. Uterine surgery #3.
- Dec 07 ~ HSS #3 showed tiny amount of scar tissue. Uterine surgery #4.
- Jan 08 ~ HSS #4 showed clear uterus.
- Jan 08 ~ IUI #3, C16. BFN.
- Mar 08 ~ IVF #1, Transfer Cancelled due to lining. Out of 15 eggs, 9 were mature and all 9 fertilized. I have named my 9 embryos "The Mod Squad" and they are in the freezer, waiting for mommy to be ready.
- Apr/May 08 ~ FET #1. C20. 4 embryos "The Fab Four" transferred on 5/05. BFP!!! Very Low Beta (15 at 11dp3dt) but the numers continued to double every 48 hours. Told it was "most likely not viable" and later "most likely ectopic" but we beat all the odds.
- May 16, 08 ~ 11dp3dt (4w0d), beta #1: 15
- May 19, 08 ~ 14dp3dt (4w3d), beta #2: 43
- May 23, 08 ~ 18dp3dt (5w0d), beta#3: 213
- May 27, 22dp3dt (5w4d), beta #4: 1,073
- Jun 08 - Ultrasound showed one heartbeat at 7 weeks.
- Jul 08 - Had CVS testing. Chromosomes are normal and it's a BOY!! EDD: 1/23
- Aug 08 - Jan 09 ~ High risk due to: 1) Velamentous Cord Insertion, deemed biggest risk 2) Previous Placenta Accreta 3) Previous rapid degraged placenta 4) IVF alone can create weak placenta 5) AMA - Advanced Maternal Age. -- All resulting in almost 30 u/s and lots of testing, which ended up saving my life.
- Jan 09 (38w0d) ~ Karl is born! -- Crazy 3 days in hospital. Manual version to flip baby from breech to head down, Labor, Delivery, Emergency surgery due to cord detaching from placenta, Scary heart issues from losing over 40% of my blood supply, and then a blood transfusion due to the extreme loss of blood. Whew!

August is SUCH a popular month for birthdays!!! Every year I get invited to more birthday celebrations (Mostly for the kids but adults as well) than I can possibly attend, so I try and 'rotate.' My birthday month seems to be very popular as well, November - I know a ton of people born on my actual birthday as well, and in fact, I believe your hubby shares the same date as me, if my blog reading memory serves me correctly.
Sucks about the Sox and your birthday... but hey at least that last Sox/Yanks series of last week didn't fall on your birthday, that would have been a double ouch! :) Sorry, couldn't resist - it was quite a weekend out here at home!! OK, OK I'll stop now... maybe I'm just trying to secretly lure schnarky Nancy back out ;)

I am a Brewers fan, and we all know they have had a terrible losing streak. They won the last 2 games, so hopefully they can win today to sweep it. As long as you're not a Yankees fan, you're cool in my husband's book.

That is weird about Ben Afleck's birthday. Is he a huge fan or something? It makes you wonder how they would make the connection.

Go out and buy yourself somthing fabulous and expensive and tell him you bought it ~from him~ since he dropped the ball. Allison shares a birthday with my nephew! And his mother, my sister! August 18 is clearly a good day to give birth.
Sorry the fam let you down on your birthday. I try to not celebrate mine, but no one will abide by my wishes. Fortunately, my mom and sister took over the birthday torture, and my husband forgot all about making me go out to dinner.

Yeah, I'm not sure what to do for the old 37 this year. It falls on Cailin's 7 month birthday so maybe we'll celebrate that despite how silly it sounds.
Ahhh yes. I can relate to the baseball part. We are a Cubs family so we can relate to long running days of NOT winning. Maybe THIS will be the year they win the world series since we introduced a new Cubby fan to the world with Cailin. Uhhhhh. One can dream right?

Thanks for you advise about induction. I am leaning toward breaking of the waters before Pitcone...but they seem to like to start the Pit then break waters once contrx have started. So we'll see how I feel and how good I am at negotiating with the big white coats.
