It's gotten worse and I've called the doctor. Except my doctor is not in today so I'm waiting for call from my Doc's nurse to be transferred to one of the nurse practitioners. And I'm not doing well waiting. I'll call back if no call within another hour.
The swelling has gotten bigger and the bruising has gotten worse. The original "golf ball" can still be felt under there, very hard to the touch, but the additional swelling around the sides are very soft. It all hurts to the touch, but nothing too horrible. If I don't touch it, the pain just feels like a normal post surgical incision. I've taken two more pictures to document this issue, which I will post again via links at the bottom. Again, please don't look just for the sake of looking. I'll repeat the fact I am embarrassed over how gross it is and I'm not posting them for general public consumption. I appreciate the expected control of your curiosity. You can see the new size here and the bruising here.

Nancy- I don't think you should wait any longer. YOu need to be seen by someone now...like right now.
That is looking pretty serious, don't take the chance, go to the ER.
I second that - anything that's getting bigger is not good. Might be time to head to the doctor's office/ER. (and I didn't even look because I don't want to know).
And for God's sake, stop having medical issues! Please!
I'm sorry I don't have any medical wisdom but I'm VERY glad you called the doctor. It def looks like it needs follow-up medical attention!
Hope it's better soon!
Are you taking any anti-inflametories?
Been thinking about you. Try not to worry. Even if it's not good, the fact that it's not horribly painful and hot is a good sign. *crossing fingers*
{not looking}
i really hope they call you back soon!! it sounds awful.. i'm so sorry nothing can just be simple.
Nancy, I would think that you'd rather be safe than sorry. Go and get it looked at ASAP. I hope things get better soon...
Go straight to ER, you could be having a bleed
I think you should go to the ER. That doesn't look good...
Good grief! That does not look good at all... I agree with all of the above. Get yourself to a doc.
I didn't look, but I am worried about you. I think you should go to the ER if your dr's office won't see you right now.
Nancy, if you don't hear back from your dr.'s office soon, I would suggest heading to the ER. This is looking really serious.
Go in NOW Nancy! That does not look good and I think you need to be seen now. I'm speaking as a former paramedic.
I agree with everyone else. I seriously think you need to go to the ER about that. It doesn't look right and it doesnt look good!
Oh, Nancy, not to be a broken record, but please get to the ER. That does not look like any kind of "normal". I hope that whatever it is returns to normal very soon.
Not clicking on your picture links from work but hope the doctor calls soon and you can figure out what is going on!
Don't wait for someone to call you back - try calling the office back on the way to the ER - that looks serious!
Nancy - I agree with the others and think you need to go into the ER. I don't like the way that looks. Hope you are being seen as I type this!

Ah nuts. This shit needs to end already. Tell your doctor (I mean doctor's nurse practitioner) that I said so.
And get well soon, lady!
Nancy, I would go to the ER...don't wait for the doctor to call you. I'm a nurse and I'll tell you right now, that's NOT normal post-op healing. Let us know how it turns out!
Oh sweetie, I would be getting my butt to the ER. Not waiting. Something is definitely wrong.
Holy shit women! Please let us know something soon!
I agree with all the other posts--go to the ER! That is absolutely absurd! You poor thing!
I agree with the ER suggestion, Nancy. Please don't wait. I'm worried about you now.
((HUGS)) and prayers!!!!

Oh my - that doesn't look good. I hope you get in ASAP to see someone. That doesn't look "normal".
Oh my! Got into the doctor pronto.
Please go to the ER ASAP. This is serious and needs to be looked at RIGHT NOW.
Seriously, I hope you go to the ER. That just doesn't look right at all.
I hope you went to the ER. That is scary looking!
Staph infection? MRSA? Other infection?
I hope you are already at the ER...
I'll be thinking of you!
Nancy -- I'm thinking of you -- and so glad you were an advocate for yourself and called -- I'm sorry no one got back to you in a timely matter -- I really hope you get answers soon -- whether from the nurseline or the e.r. -- I can't weigh in because I haven't looked at the pics and I have NO medical background and I'm the teeniest bit squeamish...but I still love you,
XO

I agree, you should go to the ER or one of those urgent care centers.
I'm "late" to this party (and I've never had an abdominal lap) but I have had many laps on my knee and abdominal surgery (large incision). Although I did have some mild complications with my ab incision I have never experienced anything (in any of my surgeries) that looked even close to your issue.
I really agree with everyone else - you should go to the ER or see a doctor right away.
I'll be thinking of you. I hope it is nothing serious and it heals quickly.
I really hope the doctors are already taking care of you. That looks seriously bad.
Thinking of you.
As a nurse I am telling you, there is nothing normal about that! Get to the doctor immediately (and don't let anyone fob you off).
OMG Nancy that looks horrible. I hope everything is okay. I agree w/the other ladies.. I'd be going to the ER right away.
I didn't look, but if it's as bad as everyone is saying... GO TO THE ER! Don't let it get any worse!
Let us know what happens!
I hope you have already gone to the ER. Gosh, I hope all is OK.
I'm getting worried about you Nancy!!!! Hope the reason you haven't updated is that you are too busy getting it looked at!
oh my god! that doesn't sound good!! I'm praying that you went to the ER and had everything checked out. Waiting to hear that you're doing better hun...
Nancy, here in Oz and hoping sure as hell you are getting that looked at. xxxx
hoping that no update means you are at the hospital!!!!! i will continue checking back soon. hugs!
seriously, urgent care, immediately.
Good God Woman! That just gnarly. Hope you feel better soon

D
