The doctor called

He was kindof weird on the phone. He's the one who said surgery was my only option and if my ovary was, in fact, starting to slowly twist from the tightness of the scar tissue - he wanted to do it soon. But when he called last night, he was all "so, what exactly are you wanting me to do? Just laser off any endo/scar tissue? Remove your tube/ovary? uterus?

Um. Yeah. I didn't go to medical school. I want to ~not~ be in any pain (it's really not that bad now) so go ahead and do what you need to do.

So. He's going to remove righty. Tube and ovary. I'll be 1/2 of the woman I was. ~wink~ Surgery is May 13th - a whole month away! yay! A bit more time to chill the hell out.

Oh - he also mentioned (seriously) that while he's in there, he can go ahead and take out my appendix. Heh. I find that a really funny offer.

Seriously, with your luck, I'd get the appendix removed and see if he can go for the gall bladder while he's in there!

Good luck!

Good gracious, Nancy! This had better be the end of wonky medical issues for a VERY long time. You've fulfilled more than your quota for he next couple of years.

And umm...don't tease me about coming here for a visit, woman. Do you know the kind of shit we could get into if you came here? :)

Nancy, I think there's only one thing you can do.

Ask for a Tenth Surgery Free punch card.

Then pay your out-of-pocket surgical fees (copay, etc.) with a credit card that earns air miles or something.

If you're going to be your doctor/surgeon's golden ticket, you might as well get to enjoy some of the benefits, right?

Seriously though, I'm sorry you have One More Thing to deal with. And here I was thinking that three kids, a full-time job, a life and roller derby were plenty for one person...

Thinking about you!

Wowzers, When we did our egg retrieval I super hyper stimmed and end up in the hospital because my oveary twisted in the middle of the night. I was on the floor screaming in pain I swore I was it was a ectopic pregnancy and my tube burst. But no it was jusr my enlarged ovary (9cm) rocking back and forth twisting up on me.

I wish you luck, mine dissappeared as the hyperstimming went down. But they were the worst days of my life. Down with OHSS!! LOL

Kym - I'm NOT kidding. Seriously. I will come visit you within, let's see, due to baby, 2 years time. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Hehehe, can't believe he actually offered to remove your appendix too. No more weird medical shit allowed...either for you or for anyone in my house. And, if you go to visit Kym, y'all better let me know.

Is someone going to refund half of what you paid for your sterilization procedure? Because that's only fair...

My friend's grandmother can't have any more abdominal surgeries, because there's nothing left to take out. I used to wonder what that meant, until I read your medical history.

Score! Buy one surgery get one free...although it won't be free. You just saved big bucks (maybe for insurance, they thank you) on the appendix being thrown in! Congrats.

Seriously, I'm sorry you're dealing with this with all that's going on. Hope it goes well!

Bree - It's funny that you wrote that because when I got my boobie job, I had the cash but paid w/ my discover card to get 3% cash back.

Yea... I had my left ovary removed 5 years ago because it twisted on itself.

That hurts... like a bitch.

Have them take it out.... not like it was very nice to us anyhow ;)

I don't understand doctors asking us what THEY should do. WHO went to medical school here? I would have been like, "Uh....." dead silence. LOL

I hope this is the END of all your medical procedures!!

When my mom had her hysterectomy they took out the appendix too. Funny how they do maintenance work while they are in there!

Have you had problems w/your appendix? If yes, might not be a bad idea to get it out. As long as your liver & spleen are still being nice to you!

I like the idea of a punch card! :^)

Good God lady!!! What else could go wrong? (never mind I'm sure you don't want to find out) If I were you, I would just get your apendix out as well.

Good luck and I hope you are on the mend soon!! oh and stay that way!!

Seriously, I'd go ahead and get the appendix out too, save yourself from surgery #20, right?

I'll ask if you ever get a break, but I think the Universe might take that as a challenge....

Man oh man- your medical tax write offs will be awesome this year!
But the 2 for 1 special being offered by your doc- awesome...

I'm sorry you have to do another surgery though- I really wish you could have avoided it. xoxo

Oh ok...two for one...that's weird but ya have to wonder if the dr. is just wanting to get more money out of the insurance company.

I hate doctors that sit there and ask..so what do you want me to do?...umm yeah..Take the PAIN away!! I'm in that boat right now and it majorly sucks! At least you have a reason for it!

How long have you been living with endo?

Hope the surgery goes off without any problems and you start feeling better!
