Bleeding with PIO?

Jesus. I am bleeding with ~every~ injection now.

At the beginning, none of my injections bleed. Then, a few random ones. Now, as I'm heading into week 10, I'm bleeding with every injection (as soon as I pull the needle out - whoosh. And I'm not talking a few drips. I'm talking shooting out blood. Out of control. One of my supplies is now a folded up paper towel to stick in my pants to soak it all up.

Does this happen to anyone else? Can anything be done?

~update~ ... Yes, I do pull back on the plunger to make sure I haven't hit an artery.

And chicklet, I'll never be tired of home depot jokes. Not ever.

Just out of curiosity are you pulling back on the plunger before you push? I'm sure you know about doing that to make sure you haven't nicked a vein or artery but I thought it was worth asking. The only thing I can think of is that extra progesterone increases blood flow and maybe your platelet count hasn't caught up yet to slow the flow...

One thing you can try is when you inject pull back a tiny bit, if you get blood then pull out a bit or angle it differently and pull back a tiny bit again. I usually only had squirters when I didn't check with a pull back.

Cate/Bleu - yes. I pull back to make sure I don't get blood flashback.

See I knew you were smart like that. :)

OK then the only other thing I can think of is the pressure you are pushing down while plunging the plunger. What I mean is could you be starting in one location, but with the pressure of pushing in the syringe going to another place all together??

So, I've got a ton of PIO experience, and I definitely had some bleeding. I don't think it was ever "shooting out", but sometimes it was substantial. My husband always did those injections for me, and he always pulled back on the plunger as well, so I don't know what the explanation is.

I don't have experience with PIO, but with my injectibles I used a warm washcloth on the injection site right after the shot to massage the area. Cut down on bleeding and stinging.

I noticed how the longer I had been on baby aspirin the easier I bruised and bled because it thins the blood. Could that be it?

What is Home Depot, anyway?

Yikes! I'm not any help at all! But holy crap I can't believe you're already at week 10! That gives me hope that this next month won't take so long. :)

The same thing was happening to me a few weeks ago. I would get a gush of blood and a little of the PIO would leak out. This week it's stopped haven't bled at all. Weird.

Maybe it's the increased blood flow from being pregnant?? Since about 12 weeks for me I have been bruising very easy and if I get hurt I bleed much more than normal.

Yeah, in my limited ass poking of PIO I always bled. It was a lovely mix of oil and blood, that's why I'm all about suppositories and the goo leaking out of my va-jay-jay.

And thanks for the no symptoms report. It makes me feel a little better and believe this is really working!

I am not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I switched to PIO in ethyl oleate this time, and everything (esp. bleeding and soreness) is much better. I do have to pay for it myself, but, god, I love it.

Me!! I've got some squirters too,, out of nowhere! The needle even pulls out clean instead of absorbing blood into the syringe at the end. I always have a gauze handy. Its not every time, but lately its been more than usual.

Topcat, if you haven't been to Home Depot - you are missing out! It's the greatest place on earth!

And Nancy, I figured you were that kinda girl:-)
