Clearing these hurdles without even looking!

Okay, I was looking. And concentrating. And being so nervous that I was sweating. But, another hurdle cleared.

Today was the big heartbeat check and we found it beating away at 129bpm, the little peapod measuring at a perfect 6w5d. I'm 7w today (even though my LMP puts me at 7w3d, but that's all wrong), but due to the late implantation, this makes total sense.

So, a little sigh of relief.

WOOHOO! So I'm curious, will you find out the gender at your big 20 week US? What type of baby are you hoping for, besides human of course!

Oh Nancy, what a beautiful bean!!! I'm so glad that after the tense beginning with late implantation and low betas you are finally on your way to a happy ending. (No not THAT kind of happy ending...jeez). Oh and I totally believe this was the 5 cell blast that you almost didn't transfer (didn't you say you thought that too?). Isn't it funny how things never go quite how we think they will or should.

I remember the nervousness of that first u/s all too well. We went to breakfast beforehand and I could hardly eat. Then sitting there waiting for the RE my heart was pounding. But seeing that little flickering blob on the screen was the most wonderful feeling ever.

Great News, Nancy, Great HB, Cute Bean-

It would be great if you put your low beta success story on one of the other message boards like betabase.org or IVF Connections. You would give hope to so many out there that just do not fit the "higher beta" categories. I was one of those ladies just searching for low beta success stories, and when I read them, it just eased my heart.

Your baby is so cute! Hee hee. Congrats on a great appointment. So what's your official due date? For those not familiar with IVF/REs/etc do you see a special doctor for all of your OB visits, or can you see your regular OB or midwife?

To answer some questions ...

will you find out the gender at your big 20 week US?
-- I will try. But my babies don't always cooperate.

What type of baby are you hoping for?
-- I want another girl. Hubby wants a boy.

I totally believe this was the 5 cell blast that you almost didn't transfer (didn't you say you thought that too?).
-- Yup. I wholeheartedly think so too.

It would be great if you put your low beta success story on one of the other message boards like betabase.org or IVF Connections.
-- I put it on betabase.info

So what's your official due date?
-- January 23rd.

For those not familiar with IVF/REs/etc do you see a special doctor for all of your OB visits, or can you see your regular OB or midwife?
-- I would ~not~ see a midwife. I believe medicine has made strides for a reason. Plus, I've seen the ineptitude of a midwife kill a baby before. Kinda ruined it for all the good midwives.
-- For my Dr appointments, I see my RE until 8 weeks and then I'm "released" to see my OB.

Congratulations!! 129 sounds a little boyish, right? Although, Lila is most definitely a girl and hers was always in the 130s-140s. Old wives tales are silly I guess.

Oh, and when I saw this ultrasound, at first I thought it was twins, lol. I saw that little thing over on the right and thought it was another baby.
