Well, that solves that. And Maternity Pictures (lots).

Warning. Lots of maternity photos of me only in a bra/panties below. Also pictures of children. So please oh please, only check them out if you really want to.

First, with everyone telling me to talk to the nurses, I decided to make a quick call to the birth center of the hospital I'll be delivering in. I talked to a nurse who not only was the friendliest thing on earth, but she totally knew what I was talking about. She told me their rule was that after a moment with mom immediately after delivery during the c-section, the baby is brought to a part of the nursery where only the ~one~ person wearing the band can come in, which will be Dad. He's the only one allowed to be with the baby until all is complete and the baby is brought back to Mom. Case closed. Whew. Although I already talked to my husband about this and he agreed to do whatever I wanted, it won't turn out to be a bigger issue if he's pressured when I'm not around.

So again, thank you for all your advice and suggestions. I will try all I can to get this little guy to turn, but if a c-section is the end result, I can live with it now. I still hope I can have a vaginal birth, but a c-section isn't so scary to me now. You girls all fucking rule. Really.

Now is where my warning applies. I don't want to split up the pictures between here and my other blog, so I'm just going to put them all here for the ease of posting.

The wife of my teammate/friend here at work is a budding photographer. She's taken pictures of my kids for the past 3 years. This year, however, was my turn and we booked her mostly for maternity pictures. I never had them done and since this is my last chance to capture my pregnant body, now was the time. Here are some of the proofs from the shoot:

I never realized how many freckles I have.

These were all taken at my house and I didn't realize we'd be using my bed as a backdrop. I'd of put the covers over the pillows had I known!

Could be anonymous, except for these pesky tattoos.

I like this one. I am very picky when it comes to pictures like these, as I think so many maternity pictures end up being cheesy. I bet these are probably cheesy to other people, but different when it's personal.

Oh boy. I'm large, eh?

Not too sure of this one yet.

Although it doesn't really show off the belly, I like this one a lot.

My family.

Girls.

Same picture, just cropped and in black & white.

~giggle~. Rock on.

Ella Belle.

~Gasp.~ Okay, so I know I'm her mom and I'm not impartial, but this picture of Ella takes my breath away.

Allie.

She loves the punk rock.

Me and Tom.

Okee Dokey - that's it for today. I've got to lay off blogger a little bit, eh?

The pictures are beautiful. It is a special time and it is the type of thing that is great to have captured on film. We have some of my maternity pictures in our bedroom and one in the hallway. Whenever my husband walks by with one of the boys he points to it and tells them that it was their first home. It is so adorable.

The pictures of the girls are stunning. They are gorgeous!

I am glad to hear you feel better about the c-section possibility. It was probably a good thing that you called the hospital and got the information first hand. Now you can relax and spend your energy convincing the little guy to turn!

Love the pictures! You look beautiful!

I think Ella looks just like you and Allie looks like your hubby. Do you hear that a lot, or am I imagining things!?

Great pix!

The pictures are beautiful! All of them!

Smart thinking to call the hospital - no reason to worry about something they've solved for you!

OH Wow. What a beautiful family. I did pregnancy photos and while they can be cheesy I am glad I did them. That's one of them just to the right-->.

I think it's a great gift to yourself and your family.

You look absolutely stunning.

The pictures are just beautiful! I love them all!!! Also, you are all belly. Wow, you look amazing.

The cropped close-up of the girls is awesome, and yes, the close-up of Ella is perfect!

Wow- these are stunning! I may have to steal a few ideas from you... ;o) My best friend is a photog & is coming over to take maternity pics next week... Although my ass is about 3 times the size of yours- I'm sure I will have nudie (or bra & panty) shots as well.
The one of Allie grinning is just so adorable! You can see her personality in her smile which is awesome! & even though you're partial- Ella is gorgeous in that one!

Great pics! I haven't decided if I'm going to do maternity pics or not. I don't have a nice belly bump. I've still got too many "curves"

You guys could be freakin' models -- WOW -- and you know what's funny? My favorite is actually the one you're not so sure of...and the black and white that doesn't quite show the belly is stunning.

Totally stunning - the lot of you!

I think she did a wicked job of these. I did some for a few friends awhile back so I appreciate how hard it is to get good shots that make your belly as beautiful as it is (cuz some angles aren't as flattering that it's a baby). You'll be so glad you have these:-)

I think you look fantastic. Really beautiful and I love the pictures. They aren't cheesy at all, they are really amazing.
My favorite is the one of you sitting, staring down at your belly (I'm totally jealous of your legs).
I love pregnant women, so beautiful!
The family pictures are beautiful as well!

Oh, and that is a great rule they have about the c-section. I'm glad your fears are quelled and that your hubby won't have to make any hard decisions!

Nancy, those pictures are just beautiful! You have such a gorgeous family! Look at all Ella's hair!

I'm glad you feel better about the c-section. I was supposed to have one with Jimmy...but we all know how that turned out!

Glad to see everything got taken care of in the post-op department =) As for the pictures....they are absolutely wonderful...yours are beautiful and the ones of the family simply rock!

The one thing I truly regret during my pregnancy is not getting maternity photos done (oh, and not calling about daycare sooner because I go back to work in 4 weeks and still don't have a place to take Cullen)

You look so lovely.

I am jealous of how good you look. It reinforces in a bad light just how huge and daft looking I was.

Love the pictures. I am still trying to find a photographer to do mine. My wedding photographer said he would do them but he doesn't have a studio and I don't have a location (renovations run amuck at my house).

I hope mine come out as beautiful.

Tricia said...

Oh my. They brought tears to my eyes. The one you said that you are not too sure about.. I love it. It was my favorite one. I would hang that in your child's room.

And your girls are so beautiful!!!

These are awesome! I hate the glam maternity photos- you know the ones where the haul in a wind machine and go crazy with make up?
Your photos are beautiful and natural.
Well done, hawtie!

You're such a gorgeous preggo. My favorite is the one you're not sure about-- sitting cross-legged looking down at the belly in that shift/nightgown. Beautiful.

Love the pictures. It's such a special time in your life to be pregnant and to share the experience with your two girls and DH. Your family is beautiful. Glad you talked to the nurse and got some more information. Every hospital does things a little differently, and it's nice to know how it would be for you. I think I'm going to ask my dr and nurses about that too, just in case. I also want DH and I to be the first ones to hold our baby.

Beautiful pictures! I really actually like the one you are unsure of! I have a pic of my oldest at 4 in that same pose and its my absolute favorite of that year.
I'm still jealous of your skinny ass, lol!

The pictures look great. You are a very beautiful woman. It makes me want to capture some pics too....
I am so glad that you got the answers you were looking for from the nurses. I also have concerns about others encroaching on my bonding time. MIL especially. This is the one and only grandchild on T's side so it is a major big deal. My Dr. stated that as long as my birth plan states no visitors for X time, they will follow that regardless of what T says.(because she will likely try to pressure him)

I am excited for you.... you look so happy pregnant!

Can't wait to see little Karl!! I remember first hearing about you and following you from the time you got pregnant.. I can't believe he is almost here... soon enough!! :)

Seriously, I think your girls could be little models for some kind of kid fashion company. They aren't just cute, but their adorable. You have to be a proud mom.

The pictures are so fabulous, both of you and the family!

And you don't look huge, you look great!

I'm thrilled to hear about your hospital's policy - that has to be a load off of your mind!

Oh, Nancy. Your pictures are incredible. I don't know that I have much else to add to the previous 48 comments!! The photographer did a GREAT job!

Chastity said...

These pictures are truly beautiful. Your little family is so lucky to have these! First, I am a little jealous of the maternity photos. I really wanted to have them done (and should have), but I got so massive so rapidly with the last pregnancy that my body sort of got away from me and eventually it would have taken a wide angle lens to even get my entire belly in a photo. My belly is definitely not in photo condition anymore, so if we have another I'm not sure I could pull over the naked belly shots.

Secondly, your daughters...wow. Talk about a daughter looking like her mother; your oldest is your spitting image! They are both really gorgeous. And how cute is that little "rock on" pic! Although, something about the way your little one does it reminds me more of "Hook Em, Horns". So precious.

I love these pics Nancy. The one your "not sure of yet" is probably my favorite. You sure have growed a belly since I've been here to visit-lol. And those girls? What can I say. You have a truly beautiful family.

Happy Holidays!!
