"The Obligatory Med Picture"

I think it's a rule that anyone going through IVF must take pictures of their med shipment. I wouldn't want to disappoint, so here is mine:

That's 76 needles if anyone is counting. (not including the 28 inside the Follistim boxes). An entire 3 week supply. Oh boy.

Thomas would faint just being in the presence of THAT many needles. You have to think too, that is even without the PIO stuff.....absolutely insane I tell ya!

Its a very sexy picture. I know I had to take a photo of my meds and remark at how little it appeared when it cost so much. And thanks for your sweet words.

See, that is exactly why I can't make myself do IVF. Too many needles, crappy insurance, and not enough money and time to invest in it.

I'm glad you get to do it though, I'll be right here cheering you along!! ♥

Wow! My X-Sister-N-Law tried IVF twice, I never knew there was so much involved in the process. We all know it's worth it though, don't we!

I've never taken a picture of it all....looks like a lot more when you put it all together.

It's ridiculous, isn't it?

And thanks for your awesome words earlier this week. I actually laughed through the tears ("Damn shit monkey asses!"). Can't wait to meet you Saturday.

Nancy, I am desperate to know what your fantastic insurance company is!!!!! Please share with us? Pretty please? Our insurance won't cover ANYTHING related to treating IF, and I'm thinking we might have to take the IVF route before too much longer. Funny thing is, I've been putting off going on MS treatments because they're injectable, yet I'm not as squeamish about the thought of injectables for IVF! Bizarre...

Sending you as many good thoughts as I can spare, Nancy! You're the best!

(Oh yeah - I've also abandoned WebMD after the fiasco with your post being deleted. I posted one last time, bidding farewell to the ladies over there, but I guess they didn't like my topic of "Goodbye, cruel WebMD" because IT was deleted, too!)

Hey Jen -

I still post on webmd, but not really on 6+mos. I do give an update or answer the random question to someone I like, but I will only post on ITSG now. It's a great group of ladies and they would never ever pull the kind of crap the "regular" ttcers would. If you are going through any treatments, come on over to ITSG!

My insurance. It's not who I have, it's the company my husband works for. Most insurance companies offer IF coverage, but it's expensive for the company, so that is why most companies don't include it in their policy for their employees. So you wouldn't have to get my insurance, you'd have to work for a company that actually recognizes infertility as something they should cover.

It's ridiculous. Even in states where IF coverage is mandatory, companies do all they can to get around it. Like let's say Indiana is an IF Coverage Mandatory state (I have no idea what states are, so just using that as an example), if the corporate office is located in a different state, they'll not cover it for their Indiana offices because of that loophole. It sucks that it's all bottom line to companies now and only a select few actually care for their employees.
