I ~puffy heart~ ambien.

Holy shit. I slept.

Well, I still woke up a few times in the morning, but I slept from like 11p-4am - 5 hours straight! I know I need to do everything I can to sleep now, as sleeping later is just something I won't be able to do. Not that it won't be possible to do, but I'll have a little newborn to take care of.

It's funny how things change with each pregnancy.
~ With my first, I only ate organic (at first until I started scarfing down tons of fast food) and I tried to not even take tylenol.
~ With my second, I took the meds I needed to take without worry, but I still tried not to.
~ Now, I'm taking muscle relaxers, narcotic pain relievers (as little as possible) and ambien.

If my 3rd turns out to be the drug addict of the family, I'm going to feel pretty freaking bad!

I've been so freaking busy lately, I haven't been blogging worth a damn. My readers sure are due some controversial topics, eh? It's not like me to be so boring. I'll try to do better tomorrow!

Ah yes, Ambien. It's amazing, no? My doc took me off mine as soon as I got a positive beta though. Is there a point in pregnancy where they say it's safe to be on? I've been sleeping so-so lately and on those nights when I'm still lying awake at 3 a.m., I'd love to take even half a pill.

I'm really glad you got some sleep! My manager- pregnant with her 4th- drank 'like a fish' until 8-9 weeks (she stopped when she found out she was pregnant- she took a bunch of tests that were negative) She doesn't seem all that concerned either way.
You've been through this before- you seem to have a good handle on what is comfortable during pregnancy- and you make some damn cute kids either way! (I am speculating on Karl due to his adorable u/s's!)

That's it, I'm asking for Ambien tomorrow. They offered it to me awhile ago, but Tylenol PM was doing the trick until I got this stupid rash. And now with a cold on top of the rash, I can't sleep for more than an hour at a time. Usually I sleep from 11 to midnight, get up and pee, sleep until about 1 and then I'm usually up wide awake and scratching until around 6am when I pass out again from pure exhaustion until 7. Is it stupid of me to think I'll actually get better sleep once the babies are born?

Glad you got some sleep!

Actually Denise, you'll be more comfortable WHEN you get to sleep. So it will be better sleep, just not as much!

Ambien is wonderful. I'm glad it helped you sleep. It's amazing the difference each pregnancy can make in your life. Admittedly I took narcotics (threw out my back early on and it only got worse) and I loved my caffeine so I'm not at all concerned when I finally have #2 baking.

I am so glad you got some sleep Nancy! I couldn't sleep near the end of my second pregnancy....it was awful. My doc gave me ambien as well and it was wonderful to actually get some sleep.

I will forgive the lack of controversial posts only if you promise to tell the full stories of anything you might do during your Ambien sleep.

You know - get up in the middle of the night and bake a casserole, eat a whole bottle of syrup, wake up fully dressed sitting in the bath tub. All of those warning in the really fine print!

Yeah, by #3, it's like everything goes out the window, and you're like "I got this" lol. Even now that he's here (weird, btw, that you have 2 girls followed by the boy, like I do...) I'm waaay more laid back and whateverish with it now.
