Going in for Beta #3 (update 1)

Man.

I'm ALL WORRIED now about ectopic because of the low betas and late implantation. I'm worried that the little embryo implanted so late because she took a ride up the tube and now she's stuck. And that is why my beta was so low.

(fyi - ectopics are INCREASED in IVF/FET. I'm not just pulling this out of my ass)

Sure, it doubled. But an ectopic can double in the beginning, right?

Fuck.

I'm freaked out. I leave in 2 minutes for blood draw and no idea when I'll get it back due to them sending out to the lab and the long weekend.

bah.

~~

Upate #1 - They are doing it in-house due to long weekend. Yay. I'll get an answer today.

Still very worried about ectopic. With low numbers, it could just be the embryo had some growing to do before hatching and finding a place to land. Or, it's ectopic. I talked with nurses and they said they couldn't rule it out due to the low numbers. Although ectopics don't usually double, they can in the very beginning, they just usually don't get too large before they start to fail. So today is a big day. Although still not out of the woods if it even comes back doubled. We need numbers of at least 160-170.

I know it must be scary right now. Waiting over the long weekend seems impossible.

Hey it's larissa, I forgot my password I had submit as Anon~I'm so sorry you have to wait the whole weekend until you find out the beta results. A few websites I looked up said that beta numbers usually arent a good indicator of ectopic pregnancy. I know it's way easier said than done, but try not to worry. I bet everything is ok.

I am so sorry you are having to go through this.

I went through beta hell with what turned out to be my ectopic so I understand completely.

I am wishing you quadrupling numbers and no "E" word in sight.

Hugs!

Why do they have to send it out? Why can't they do it there?

I guess I didn't realize the egg could travel back up the tube.

I think that you are pulling a 'Tammy'; think the worst so if it doesn't happen you feel great but if it does, you are slightly prepared. Trust me, that is no way to live.

You have been through so much I understand you being so scared. We are here for you no matter what the outcome.

I hope you have some reassurance after this blood draw.

I'll be thinking of you. The chances of it being okay are higher than the chances of you having an ectopic, I think.

Try and stay positive! :) By the way, are you still POAS? How dark are they now?

good luck! *fingers crossed*

Well, I hope you get the numbers desired!

And yeah, my doctor gave me the stats on the fact there is an increased risk of ectopic with IVF, why I don't know. But with me, they now transfer lower.

Also, my numbers doubled randomly and ocassionally. I started at 12.5, went up to 25 then only to 38 and so on. So I am hoping your numbers are out of the park and it was just a late implanter.

Sending you lots of hugs!

Praying for good numbers, but um, couldn't you just have a date with the wand? Wouldn't that tell you things were happening where they were supposed to? I know it's early to see much, but you should see where the sac is growing. Can you tell I have no patience for waiting? :) Good luck. Hope they call you soon with your results.

Kaci - it's too early to see the sac until my numbers hit 1000

I know you have a lot of supporters here but it doesn't seem like people are too positive. Just like when you were convinced your IVF didn't work and everyone jumped the gun saying "I'm sorry. Maybe next time, etc." EVERYONE worries about ectopic pregnancies. Like my mom always said "Don't worry until you have to worry." Our own imaginations are the most dangerous thing. Easier said than done, but don't try to overthink it. You're pregnant! Relish in it.

HUGS,
Shawn
