That was fun, but now I'm bored.

I need something new to talk about because although funny, it gets old quick. In my two years of blogging, I've had my share of whackadoos and people who don't like me. I usually just ignore it, but every now and again, I love to point out how ridiculous someone is. And as chicklet pointed out, it's also ridiculous of me to indulge in it too, but it was just too funny for me to ignore sometimes. Usually, people pick a few things that I do that they don't like and concentrate on that. But this time, it was all stuff that was totally made up and taken out of context so it was super east to make fun of and laugh at.

I wonder how other people think about this ... I actually LIKE that everyone doesn't like me. In fact, I actually enjoy the knowledge some people despise me. It tells me that I'm not someone who just goes with the flow of everyone else. I'm not boring. I'm not afraid to give my opinion, even if I know it could be unpopular with some people. I stir real emotion in some people. Of course I don't want to simply be mean to someone (except in response to someone who posted a giant blog post dedicated to calling me a bitch and to spread lies. That's defamation.) and when giving my opinion, I will ~always~ leave room for the other side, as I respect people have differing opinions. But I personally take it as a compliment when someone would go through so much work to show their distaste in me. Does anyone feel the same way as I do - in that being liked by ~everyone~ isn't actually a good thing?

I figure if ~everyone~ liked me, I wouldn't at all be exciting. I know some of those people in the world, where they are always accommodating and always nice to everyone. These people never have strong opinions on any topic and if they did, they keep it to themselves.

I don't want to be like that. I would rather be really liked or really hated. No in-between with me. Ask anyone who has known me for awhile and ask what they think of me. No one shrugs their shoulders and says "eeeeh, I don't know".

So whackadoos, thank you. Thank you for letting me know I'm getting what I'm trying for. Thank you for actually boosting my self esteem and ego. Thank you for reminding me I'm not becoming boring and I'm not simply mediocre.

I'm putting up a poll at the very bottom (on the right) for you all to chime in. Please take a moment to answer?

When I first met you I didn't really care for ya, but you definitely grew on me, I love reading your schnarky blogs, they make me laugh.

I have to say that I admire your outspokeness & unapologetic nature. I am one of ~those~ who likes to keep the peace & not rock the boat. I am getting more & more outspoken as I get older, but for the most part I look for the peaceful resolution to conflict before it even starts.

I wish I could be more outspoken all the time, and it's getting there, but slowly...

But you of course already know I <3 you!

I don't feel the need to be liked, but people who deliberately misinterpret things in order to move their own personal agenda annoy me to no end. I feel the need to correct them, but I'm valiantly trying to get over it.

I don't really fit on your poll, though. I don't care if people like me or not, but I've learned to keep my opinion to myself unless someone asks me directly. Most of the time.

I know that not everyone will like me, but that doesn't mean I take pleasure in it when someone doesn't - I'm way too thin-skinned. The first time someone in the blogosphere sent me a snarky comment I almost stopped blogging.

I know, it's boring, but I can't stand it when drama is directed AT me. Now - I'll still observe from the sidelines of course...

Oh Becky, you can't let anons bother you. Now, if someone I know and respect suddenly doesn't like me or is angered at me, of course I care. But in the internet world? You have NO IDEA who these comments could be coming from. It could simply be from a lunatic with an IQ of 32. You can't assume everyone out there is intelligent, you know what I mean?

I met you on the boards, and I admit I was intimidated at first. I really just wanted to be accepted by you.

Now, you're not so scary. I've realized you just speak your mind and say it like it is.

Plus we're both Type A personalities, so I'm sure there are some things we would just understand about each other.

Just for the record, I hate you....j/k. ;)

I used to care SO much about what other people thought of me and I'm finally starting to "not care." My step-mom hasn't spoken to me in 6-7 YEARS over something stupid and it used to bother me, but now I just think it's ridiculous.

While online though it is hard to read tone unlike in real person. You feel like someone is attacking you when they are typing an opinion because you can't tell by the "tone of voice." Of course with you they really are attacking you...or at least the user name Nancy.

People who are overly accommodating just get stepped on in this world. No one steps on you, lady.

I'm not like you in that I like to simply keep the peace, and if that means not speaking my mind, then that's what I'll do. Which is probably why I have a boring blog with 5 comments on a good day. I love your blog because you aren't afraid to say what so many are thinking. Not to mention you have such thought provoking topics. Your blog is one of my favorites.

You're definitely exciting!

I didn't select an answer on your poll, because it really depends on the situation I'm in. I will not do or say anything just to be liked or to fit in. BUT, in some situations I will keep my opinion to myself. I pick my battles. On that same hand I am known for saying exactly what is on my mind at the wrong times. It's earned me a little bit of a bitchy reputation with my husband's co-workers. I kind of (read: really) like that!

hey this has been hilarious...i saw her original post, but i don't see the link to her new "blow me" post...maybe it's my reader. anyhoo, i just wanted to mention that although she has a trendy, look at me i drink cosmos (so dated) so i'm a modern woman background on her blog, this person is 1. awfully young 2. not very schooled (ie. the incessant incorrect 'your') 3. a rude little girl. She offered no pertinent insight on the subject of infertility, ttc, or anything that would remotely endear her to me in any way or that would justify her ignorant ramblings. i could go on, but she epitomizes everything that is wrong with those boards and why i rarely comment on them. As far as your poll, i'd like to vote for number three (no voting button showing), and you strike me as that person. Why should you sacrifice your thoughts and opinions because someone is going to get their panties in a bunch over it. There's always the option of deleting the feed and not reading what is perceived to be offensive. I look forward to reading what other women have to say. Being generic is so boring. Kudos to you and the others who have the cajones to be themselves, it's such an inspiration.
