Getting To Know You (GTKY #1)

You all know ~me~ from reading my blog. Now I want to get to know you by asking some questions.

Please cut/paste these questions into the comments and answer them truthfully! ~wink~

Q1: Let's say you are driving by yourself in the middle of a long drive. You are in a good mood and you have every album ever made available to listen to. Name 1-3 albums you would choose to listen to.
A1:

Q2: Let's say you have been dating a guy for 1 year and he just broke up with you. What ~sad~ break-up music would you listen to?
A2:

Q3: Now you are more pissed for him breaking up than sad. What ~angry~ music would you choose?
A3:

Q1: Let's say you are driving by yourself in the middle of a long drive. You are in a good mood and you have every album ever made available to listen to. Name 1-3 albums you would choose to listen to.
A1: Marvin Gaye – What’s Going On and something from Bob Dylan and the Beatles

Q2: Let's say you have been dating a guy for 1 year and he just broke up with you. What ~sad~ break-up music would you listen to?
A2: Billie Holiday type stuff.

Q3: Now you are more pissed for him breaking up than sad. What ~angry~ music would you choose?
A3: Nine Inch Nails or GNR (it’s been a while since I had to listen to angry music)

Q4: You are on death row and have been offered a last meal. What would you pick?
A4: Steak, a salad and red wine.

Q5: You have a free night to hang out with your friends and you get to pick the night. What would you choose to do? If you would go somewhere to have drinks, what kind of club/bar would you want to go? Would you rather have a girls only night? Or mixed company?
A5: A girls only night at a friend’s house. I like to go out, but we all talk a lot and are loud, and it is best to keep our conversations to ourselves. We get pretty graphic.

Q6: You are on your night out with friends and someone else is the designated driver. You have all night and nothing to do in the morning but sleep. What would you choose to drink? What level of drunkenness would you chose to achieve?
A6: Drunk enough that I wouldn’t be able to drive, but not much more drunk than that. I can’t handle wasting a whole day on a hangover. I would drink either beer or wine, depending on my mood. If it was winter, it would be dark beer or red wine. If it was summer I might go for a Mexican beer with lime.

Q7: Your designated driver is now driving everyone home and offers to stop anywhere you want to feed your drunk ass. What would you pick?
A7: Nothing. I learned in my later college years that eating at 1am does bad things to me.

Q8: You have a gift certificate for 2 pairs of shoes to a shoe store that carries every brand of shoe in the world and every shoe costs the exact same amount. What casual shoe would you pick? What dress shoe would you pick?
A8: Oh jeez, I have no idea. I don’t have a brand of shoes that I favor. I would just get something extra expensive that I would never spend my own money on!

Q9: Let's say these things all cost the exact same and you are told to pick ~three~ things. What would you pick?: Pair of shoes. Handbag. Bundle of craft items. Outfit at your favorite store. Day at the spa. MP3 player. Dinner & drinks at your favorite restaurant. Concert tickets to your favorite band. 3 month gym membership. Hotel room at the city's fanciest hotel. Makeup/beauty bundle. Haircut and color. A kitchen appliance like an espresso machine, something frivolous.
A9: Outfit at favorite store, haircut and color, shoes.

Q10: What do you do for a living? Is it your dream job? If not, what is your dream job?
A10: I am a Structural Engineer. I wouldn’t say it is a dream job, but I do enjoy it. I don’t think I have a dream job. Anything that I have to do for 40 hours a week is going to be work, no matter what!

Q11: Do you have a college degree? If yes, what is it in? If no, are you planning to go back?
A11: Yes – A Bachelor of Civil Engineering and a Master of Science (in Structural Engineering)

Q12: If you could start your education over, would you change anything? If so, what?
A12: I don’t know. I sometimes wonder if I should have gone into teaching. I would have liked to teach math and the schedule would have been so much better suited to family life.

Q13: What are your summer hobbies. (Things you actually do, not things you would like to do but rarely do them. For instance, many people say "hiking" although they can't remember the last time they went.)
A13: Fishing, running (I run year round, but its better when I can do it outside), doing everything possible outside.

Q14: What are your winter hobbies?
A14: Ice skating. I also want to get into cross country skiing (but you said that doesn’t count).

Q15: Are you ~happy~ with your life? If not, what would make you happy?
A15: Yes. I am very happy with my life. A second child would make it all the better.

Q1: Let's say you are driving by yourself in the middle of a long drive. You are in a good mood and you have every album ever made available to listen to. Name 1-3 albums you would choose to listen to.

A1: I'd say "Staind", something about them and an open highway.

Q2: Let's say you have been dating a guy for 1 year and he just broke up with you. What ~sad~ break-up music would you listen to?

A2: Anything country, which would probably only make me more depressed.

Q3: Now you are more pissed for him breaking up than sad. What ~angry~ music would you choose?

A3: "She Fucking Hates Me" by Puddle of Mudd

Q4: You are on death row and have been offered a last meal. What would you pick?

A4: Something I have never had before, something fancy. Not quiet sure what that would be though.

Q5: You have a free night to hang out with your friends and you get to pick the night. What would you choose to do? If you would go somewhere to have drinks, what kind of club/bar would you want to go? Would you rather have a girls only night? Or mixed company?

A5: Girls only, and honestly? Since I've had this opportunity before we just went to a nice mexican restraunt and drank up all the margaritas we could handle. I'm not really into the club scene anymore like I used to be.

Q6: You are on your night out with friends and someone else is the designated driver. You have all night and nothing to do in the morning but sleep. What would you choose to drink? What level of drunkenness would you chose to achieve?

A6: Again, as MANY margaritas as I could handle, and I'd get pretty messed up if all I could do was sleep the next morning.

Q7: Your designated driver is now driving everyone home and offers to stop anywhere you want to feed your drunk ass. What would you pick?
A7: Well if we didn't go to a mex-restraunt I'd say Pizza...that's always been my drunk food.

Haircut and color. A kitchen appliance like an espresso machine, something frivolous.

A9: Hotel room, haircut and color, and concert tickets!

Q10: What do you do for a living? Is it your dream job? If not, what is your dream job?

A10: Kevin and I both work for my grandfathers company, it wouldn't be someone else's "dream" job but it is mine since I can bring the baby to work (no daycare) I work with Kevin (which has its ups and downs) and it is ~SO~ laid back its not even funny.

Q11: Do you have a college degree? If yes, what is it in? If no, are you planning to go back?

A11: I went to College for about a year but then goofed off and got stupid. Drugs & drinking were more important then. Now, I probably would go back if I had the money just to show my son its the right thing to do.

Q12: If you could start your education over, would you change anything? If so, what?

A12: Id change choosing drugs and drinking over my education.

Q13: What are your summer hobbies. (Things you actually do, not things you would like to do but rarely do them. For instance, many people say "hiking" although they can't remember the last time they went.)

Q1: Let's say you are driving by yourself in the middle of a long drive. You are in a good mood and you have every album ever made available to listen to. Name 1-3 albums you would choose to listen to.
A1: I like my Pearl Jam CDs (I have about 10 of them), I have 3-4 different Nirvana CDs (for when I'm in that bood); otherwise, I listen to a lot of R&B (my mix CD that is in my CD player 90% of the time--I like Akon, Kanye, and others). Oh, I also am a big JT fan, but he needs to get a new album out.

Q2: Let's say you have been dating a guy for 1 year and he just broke up with you. What ~sad~ break-up music would you listen to?
A2: Gosh, I don't know. Maybe put in some GNR?

Q3: Now you are more pissed for him breaking up than sad. What ~angry~ music would you choose?
A3: Nirvana--I'd sing along with some of the yelling music.

Q4: You are on death row and have been offered a last meal. What would you pick?
A4: A very large plate of bacon with a couple slices of swiss cheese for the main course. If dessert is offered, I'd like some angelfood cake with strawberries and whipped cream on top.

Q5: You have a free night to hang out with your friends and you get to pick the night. What would you choose to do? If you would go somewhere to have drinks, what kind of club/bar would you want to go? Would you rather have a girls only night? Or mixed company?
A5: My basic requirement is that good music is played. We have a record # of bars on one block in my town (seriously!) and you can very easily go bar hopping without going too far. That's what we do. Oh, and I prefer mixed company. Friday or Saturday nights are good--no fun feeling sick at work the next day!

Q6: You are on your night out with friends and someone else is the designated driver. You have all night and nothing to do in the morning but sleep. What would you choose to drink? What level of drunkenness would you chose to achieve?
A6: Oooh, this would be nice since I'm usually the DD. I am a conservative drinker and have only been truly drunk once (at my 5 yea reunion--I drank 3 Smirnoffs and 2 huge bottles of Boone's Farm--LOL). I would probably start off with OJ & Malibu, have a couple more "girly" mixed drinks, maybe a hard lemonade, and call it a night. That's enough for me to have a good buzz and do some crazy dance moves! I'm such a lightweight.

Q7: Your designated driver is now driving everyone home and offers to stop anywhere you want to feed your drunk ass. What would you pick?
A7: Pizza Hut! For some reason that sounds good when under the influence (never had a "stop for something to eat" after a night of drinking though--usually am too tired and just want to get home).

Q8: You have a gift certificate for 2 pairs of shoes to a shoe store that carries every brand of shoe in the world and every shoe costs the exact same amount. What casual shoe would you pick? What dress shoe would you pick?
A8: I don't own any fancy shoes, so I'd have to do some research before making my decision. I don't own a pair of really mean heels--maybe get something sexy?

Q9: Let's say these things all cost the exact same and you are told to pick ~three~ things. What would you pick?: Pair of shoes. Handbag. Bundle of craft items. Outfit at your favorite store. Day at the spa. MP3 player. Dinner & drinks at your favorite restaurant. Concert tickets to your favorite band. 3 month gym membership. Hotel room at the city's fanciest hotel. Makeup/beauty bundle. Haircut and color. A kitchen appliance like an espresso machine, something frivolous.
A9: I'd go with the outfits. Nothing feels sexier than a brand new outfit!

Q10: What do you do for a living? Is it your dream job? If not, what is your dream job?
A10: I work in Human Resources. I love my job--I get my own office and have lots of different tasks to keep me busy; my job has plenty of vafiation. My favorite thing to do is conduct interviews--I have met some interesting people, and also some weird people. My dream job would be a Labor & Delivery RN/Lactation Consultant. Damn, I went into the wrong field, and realized what my dream job would be when I was in the hospital having Andrew.

Q11: Do you have a college degree? If yes, what is it in? If no, are you planning to go back?
A11: Yes, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Art and a minor in Photography. I worked as a graphic artist for a year; then my workplace cut a whole bunch of jobs. I had only been there 6 months, and a lot of the newbies got cut. I decided to take the next job I could find--and that was the one I have now. I am so glad to be doing this instead! I still use my Photography--in fact, I value it much more than my Art Degree. I take senior photos for friends and family; I also love portrait photography. I need to get my ass moving--I want to start another blog that is all photography.

Q12: If you could start your education over, would you change anything? If so, what?
A12: YES. I would have gone to the other university in town and gotten my RN degree. I still kick myself for this, but it'd be very hard to go back to school now that I have Andrew. I'll just stay put.

Q13: What are your summer hobbies. (Things you actually do, not things you would like to do but rarely do them. For instance, many people say "hiking" although they can't remember the last time they went.)
A13: Swimming at Lake Wazee, going for walks (Wisconsin is only a good place to live in spring and summer; part of fall), going biking as a family--we have an awesome bike trailer for Andrew that DH hooks up to his bike. I got a new bike last summer--it's a hybrid--a mountain bike frame with road bike tires.

Q14: What are your winter hobbies?
A14: I used to ski--from about age 10-19--had a season pass because my dad was a ski patrol (still is). I lost those privileges when my parents got divorced--bye-bye, Daddy! Now, I don't do a whole hell of a lot in the winter besides sit on my ass and wait for warm days to go walking.

Q15: Are you ~happy~ with your life? If not, what would make you happy?
A15: I am very happy with my life. When Andrew was born, my whole life changed in a very positive way. He really is my world. I would like one more baby someday to feel "complete". My hubby and I are on different pages on this, so I am really not sure if it will ever happen.

An outfit, haircut, and concert tickets.
