Horn Tootin'.

144 lbs. 34 lbs down from delivery. (weighed 145 before IVF/FET. weighed 157 at bfp.) I'm finally losing pre-treatment weight now.

9 lbs to go.

(please, no "congrats!" responses. I'm feeling quite proud of myself and doing enough horn tootin' myself. I don't want this to sound like I'm fishing for compliments!)

note: I am only 3w5d postpartum. I have NO FUCKING CLUE how I'm losing this weight. Lots of women do it, yes, but it's not normal. Hell, when I had my other two and I was losing more on an average rate, I hated women like me. So another reason to not congratulate me. Maybe my 36 year old body and karma is throwing me a bone this time. Who knows.

I think your body is just rewarding you for all you had to go through. :) At least, I hope you don't have a tapeworm! *Wink*

Hate to break it to you, but it may not last...My 38 year old body decided that while breastfeeding, taking off weight was a great idea, but once I stopped...well, let's just say that I was apparently supposed to stop eating as well. I gained about 5-10 lbs back (don't know, never weigh myself) in all the wrong places. It also corresponded to a decrease in activity as the little one would no longer sit in the stroller for walks every day. Sigh...more workouts, less cake...not my favorite.

I hate women like you, too. ;) just kidding! You've been sick as a dog and breastfeeding, it's no wonder you're losing.

areyoukiddingme - let me just say you are my biggest bubble burster! Although it's good to be brought back to reality, it's ~always~ you who does it! No more bubble bursting from you, k? ~wink~

In a few weeks, I'll be back to the gym AND roller derby. My activity is only going to go UP!

Karma police totally throwing you a bone after all the HELL you went through with your delivery and being sick this time. Seriously!

I also lost a ton of weight right after the boys were born. I don't mean to discourage you, but it did not last. I still felt like i needed the calories for my milk production, but my body acted differently. Now, I am a few pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight!! THe bad thing is that it's wintertime and it's very difficult to get out and exercise with the boys. Hopefully the spring will arrive soon...

I hope your body decides to let you keep it up!!

Did you think that maybe it could be from you being sick?? I for one should know what that's all about ha ha!

Man I'm jealous of that Derby..I'd Love to have something like that in my area to be involved in!

I mean this is the nicest of ways. You suck! ;)

I only lost maybe 5 more pounds after the first pp week. And then later in the breastfeeding life cycle, I gained that back.

Darn hormones!

Maybe it's genes? You've got the awesome pregnant to not pregnant transition body?

I took lost all my preggo weight (about 45 pounds) in about three weeks and then lost 10 more -- getting down to 130 -- a weight I hadn't seen since early high school. I was stoked but then bounced back to my usual 140 as soon as I weaned. :(

Yay Nancy! I definitely think you deserve this reward from your body for all the hell you've been through!

You suck.

There, is that better than a compliment? LOL

I hope I'm as lucky when it comes time to lose the weight (although highly doubtful that I will be. Losing weight for me normally is a sloooooow process so I can only imagine how it will be after having a baby!)

Are you kidding me? The weight is just dropping off? I know you asked for no congratulations but how can I resist? Dang, soon you'll be back to roller derby and tons of activity and we'll be appealing to you to put on a little weight. Are you kidding me?

If you figure it out, please let us in on your secret (or at least write a book and show up on Oprah). :)

Congratulations anyway! :-P And who cares why or how. I'm sure it will last with you; you're Mrs.-super-active with your roller derby and chasing after 2 kids while taking care of a newborn.

I'll have to admit I'm jealous as hell, though. I'm only about 30 pounds down from my highest pregnancy weight, but that's my own damn fault.

Way to go Nancy! I think eating sensibly while breastfeeding is the key. I know some women say they breastfed but the weight didn't want to come off and you have to question their caloric intake. Weight loss really is calories in < calories out. Some body types burn fewer calories due to metabolism but still, it's math, right?

Anyway - good job! You might gain a few lbs back after your year of breastfeeding but it will probably be a few lbs that you need and not anything to worry about.

I don't think I commented on this yet.

I gained 32 kilos, I think that's about 70 pounds ish. I weighed 50 kilos before I got pregnant (about 110 pounds I think). SO I gained more than half my pre pregnant weight.

I had pre-eclampsia, so a lot of it turned out to be oedema, and probably explained by I lost 20 kilos (over 40 pounds) week one pp alone. Took me six weeks to get back into my jeans, and eleven to get all the way back down (the residual fat took a while, there was a lot of that too!).

In your case I wold say it's having been so ill- inflammatory cytokines etc in yor body do up your metabolic rate and down your intake.

Nancy, Since you did not gain as much weight this time around I think it's much easier to take it off. You are my role model for not gaining unnecessary weight and then letting it just melt away.

YAY...BFing rocks for losing baby weight!!! Go NANCY! I hope my baby weight comes off as easily this time. With Jacob it was 3 weeks, with Nick it was 5 weeks...so might take longer. :( I'll worry about that later, though.

WOOHOO!

Well done Nancy!! Good for you. No bubble-bursting from me.

I've got my own weightloss thing really starting to kick in with the BFing... I'll use you as my motivation to shift the rest.

Do you mind me asking how tall you are?

I know how you feel, I went from my whoppin 175 at delivery down to 145 by my first pediatric appointment (I think 9 days after delivery) though I started out at 118 so I had a long way to go and still never reached it (dont want too). But now I'm scared because of my age - and starting out at 133 and not 118, I cant afford to gain 57 lb. It's definetly harder for me this time around. But you look great (Not complimenting you ::wink::) Your doing a great job. I think you'll keep it off.

I think after all that you went through with getting pregnant, the pregnancy issues and delivery issues it's about time that karma got on your side and something came easy!! Congrats!! Oops, I mean you suck;)
